About

People strategy should help the business move, not slow it down.

I am Shonda Williams, a People executive and operator who helps growing companies build the clarity, systems, and leadership practices they need to scale.

For more than 14 years, I have worked at the intersection of people and business, leading HR and People work in technology and fintech environments where growth, change, and execution move quickly.

I have built and matured People operations, led recruiting, designed compensation and leveling frameworks, developed performance programs, coached managers, advised executive teams, and supported employees through complex change. I have helped leaders navigate acquisition and integration while keeping the employee experience grounded in clear answers: what is changing, what is staying the same, and what it means for each person.

My perspective is shaped by operating experience, not theory. I have been responsible for the decision, the implementation, the manager preparation, the employee communication, and the follow-through. I have also stepped beyond HR to lead Finance and Accounting for six months during an executive leave, which sharpened the way I connect People decisions to business realities.

Through Shonda Consults, I bring that experience to founders and growing companies that need executive-level People leadership, stronger infrastructure, or experienced ownership of a critical initiative.

Based in Dallas and available to support teams across the United States.

How Shonda works

Direct judgment, handled with care.

Clear before complex

I start by making the situation understandable. Leaders need to know what the problem is, why it matters, what the options are, and what decision is required.

Right-sized for the stage

A growing company does not need enterprise bureaucracy. It needs a strong foundation, clear ownership, and systems designed for the complexity it has now and expects next.

Business and employee lens

A good People decision protects the business and respects the people affected by it. I hold both realities at the same time.

Implementation is part of the strategy

A program is not finished when the document is approved. Managers need to understand it, employees need clear communication, and someone needs to own the operating rhythm after launch.

Candor and care can coexist

I bring direct judgment to the room, communicate honestly, and handle sensitive work with discretion and respect.

What clients can expect

An experienced partner, at the right level.

You do not need more HR activity. You need the right work, done at the right level.

If the People side of the business is creating risk, slowing leaders down, or failing to keep pace with growth, let's talk about what needs to change.
